It will be a dry summer
forecasts my son's friend
this sunny afternoon in the park

We picnic in the green shade
noticing paper cut blinds on the way
crafting our lives
me and her aunt and her mother
caring for this beautiful planet

We discuss the meaning of terrorism
which they will learn in class
interning at international non-profits

Later our kids are taught
not to walk in Central Park
after dark
