In the Beginning

In the beginning there was silence.
Does a tree falling in the forest make a sound
when there is no one to hear?

Then there was breath
and the plants and the animals danced together
in the circle of life
feeding each other

Water swam around the Earth
infusing everything
quenching fire and thirst

We listened to the rain
and thought of Death

We built towers with our words
constructed Gods and Money
to outlast us
but they tricked us into believing
in happiness
when there is only the dance

In the end there will be silence.
