Bubble

Rising up in the blue sky
toward the chalk white moon
long after the little girl
in the butterfly face paint
has stopped blowing bubbles
and people are talking of other things

Outlasting the higher bubbles
winning a game of celestial shuttlecock
stubbornly holding your breath
until the silent pop
