A Poem a Day

Tree

The understanding I seek
Is spiritual not intellectual
Like a tree by the side of the stream
Of universal consciousness
Sipping the sweet fresh water
Through its roots and through its heart
Reaching up to the sky
With handfuls of golden green new leaves
